Inverell Rugby Club
Originally in the NE Zone, the Inverell Rugby Club recently celebrated the 120th anniversary of its first game against Armidale in 1893. Since then the club has had a proud history including it's transition to the Central Northern Zone in the 1970's. In 1979 the club officially opened its grounds and clubhouse in Ross St Inverell, with the facility continually being improved to cater for a broad range of community events. Known as the Highlanders, the club's colours are green and gold, currently fielding both senior grades along with two Colts teams. The Club also fields a full compliment of junior grades. The Highlanders are a progressive club and draw players right to the QLD border, as well as having reciprocal arrangements with rugby clubs around the world. There is a very welcoming environment at training which takes place each Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00pm, and for more information contact Scott Bremner on 0428 174664. Stay in touch with the Highlanders on our website and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
