All clubs affiliated with CNRU are automatically covered under the ARU Sports Injury and Liability Insurance Plan from March 1, for a period of 12 months. Participation in the plan is compulsory for all teams competing in competitions managed byCNRU and an Insurance Levy is payable by all clubs annually based on the number of teams. Only registered participants are insured. Players must be registered prior to participation in rugby, including before playing any match, trials or training. Coaches, Match Officials, Club Volunteers/Officials, Team Management etc. must be registered on acceptance of a position or appointment. CNRU encourages all players and officials to take out their own private health insurance, life insurance and ‘Top Up’ coverage over and above the coverage provided under this plan.
CNRU Clubs should automatically receive paperwork from Gow-Gates Insurance. Please forward all payments direct to Gow-Gates Insurance with the required paperwork requested by them. In 2015/16 NSWRU/NSWCRU are anticipating there will be no changes from 2015 i.e. premium & application.
Clubs should be factoring the following figures into their season budgets:
- Senior Teams: $1,790.00
- U19 Teams: $1,020.00
- Junior Teams: $140.00
There will be a change in the method of determining the insurance and issuing of Tax Invoices.
Zones will be required to sign off on the number of teams each of their clubs will field during the 2016 season.
This sign off will occur at the end of March, and will determine the amount of insurance to be applied to each club.
The insurance broker will issue Tax Invoices which will be sent in batches to each Zone for distribution to the respective clubs.
Tax Invoices will be issued during April with payment of the premium due by 30 June 2016.
