Wounded Pirates facing tough task

28th Jun 2014

PIRATES will be looking to rectify their first round misgivings when they travel out to Narrabri today, but will be up against a Blue Boars side still yet to drop a game and with a mounting injury toll.

On the plus side they do get Josh Stewart back, but coach Andrew Verrell couldn’t recall seeing an injury toll like what they have in his time at the club.
There’s no Blake Pollock or Ben Goodman either, Goodman serving a one-match suspension. What was a problem of halves has stretched to the forwards with Conrad Starr and Barton Leach the latest injury casualties.

“We’ve had to reinvent the forward pack,” he said.

Fortunately the backs are relatively intact with Andrew Moodie set to make his return at five-eighth and Zeb Buchanan right to play at half-back.
